HiWe're Stefania and Matteo. On Sealinthefog.com we share our passion for #travelling #bicycles #furniture #DIY #crafts #renovation. Check our #about us post. We hope you enjoy it!
Recently it was my sister’s birthday and searching for a present I couldn’t really find something cute and right for her. I was looking for something for her bedroom in her student’s apartment, so it had to fit well with the rest of the furniture and I wanted it to be useful as well.
We wanted a clock, but the nice ones, or at least the ones I like, are of course very expensive. So we thought the right thing was a little DIY. I checked online and the easiest option was customizing an ikea clock, just like the many you find on ikeahackers.com
We bought the super cheap Rusch wall clock (this one) since we were not sure of the result. We had a few possibilities: painting the frame, adding a different background, or both.
We had this hand-me-downs chest of drawers. Although we didn’t like the color, it is a really useful and well-done piece. It was custom-built by a carpenter and essentially designed for the bathroom: the open-top part is perfect for the hair-dryer and brushes.
When we rented our apartment in Padova we were lucky enough to find a semi-furnished one. I have to say that it was quite hard to find an empty house within our price range.
